Daddy's Birthday weekend Part 2

So for Dan's continued Birthday celebration. We allowed Makenzie to stay home from school friday and we took the girls to Creation Muesum. Here are some pictures from the trip. The girls had a great time showing mommy and daddy around. We had not been before. The girls had been with Nana and Papa York twice before. So after the Creation Muesum Dan and I went to Red Lobster for Dinner then a comedy club (his choice) the girls got to stay at Nana's for the evening. They were pretty excited. All In all I think Daddy had a nice birthday.

Dan turned 40!

So this past weekend was my husbands 40th birthday. I was going to take him out of town but we decided to take a couple of days off work and just have some family time. Well at the last minute Thursday I decided to throw him a suprise birthday party ok well a very small one. So I called his mom and dad and asked them to come to dinner and Abby and Makenzie and I baked a cake and decorated it for him. We even got some decorations. The girls were so excited. I had called Dan earlier in the day to see what time he would be home. Well I called him after that time and he was just leaving work so I got upset with him. Because I had dinner ready (oh well his party). I made roast beef, mashed taters and gravy, corn, rolls and cole slaw. IT was very good. We then gave him his cake and then presents. Which then in turn started his birthday weekend. I will update more on the weekend later. Enjoy the pictures of the girls with the decorated cake and with Daddy.

Blessings!

I am no fancy writer but I wanted to share how this one blog (one life) has shown me that life is short and we don't always know what is in store for us but, we should be thankful every moment of everyday for what God has given to us.

As I was reading this blog today (http://audreycaroline.blogspot.com)
and I set her and pray for those who have lost children at all stages of pregnancy and life.

I want to thank God for the two beautiful blessings he has given me in Makenzie Nicole born May 13, 2003 by c-section one week past her due date weighing in at a healthy 9lbs 13oz 21 inches long. And her sister Abigail Grace born March 24, 2005 born via c-section weighing in at an even healthier weight of 10lbs 1oz 22 inches long. My pregnancies were with minor complications and I thank the Lord. Even with my gestational diabetes and shots and stress tests they were simple.

I have taken for granted my children and what a blessing their lives are. Their health, their beautiful smiles, their laughter and all God has designed them to be. I don't want to take that for granted anymore.

As I ponder all this today, I think there are so many times that we forget to thank God for even the smallest details in our lives. I don't want my life to be about me I want it to be about him and what he has given me to use here on this life and to use it to HIS GLORY not mine.

Field trip to Niedermann Farm

Thursday October 2 was Makenzie's kindergarten field trip to the Niedermann farm. She was so excited for any of you that know Makenzie know she LOVES animals so she was excited. All the other kids were off playing and Makenzie was looking at all the animals. She is fascinated with them. I do not know where she gets it. They got to go on a hayride and go through the corn maze. Makenzie also got to pick her own pumpkin she wanted a small pumpkin. The last picture is of her whole class. The most exciting thing of that day for Makenzie was she got to ride the bus to and from the farm. Which is now why she rides the bus to and from school everyday.

Kids are just funny!

So the other day I walked into my room to check on the girls and well I found Abby in the laundry basket just playing. So I had to get a picture. So then big sis had to get in on the fun. I don't know why but Abby loves to get in there and just play. I thought the pictures were cute, so I thought I would share. Please note that Abby has her bible in hand as well.

WOW!

As I sit here today at my desk glancing through blogs, reading on lives that have been changed with tragedy and loss.

I am reminded of what a blessing LIFE is. I know sometimes I dwell on the small "stuff" and forget about the important. My nature is to be in control. I like things to be neat and tidy, but as I go through life I know it isn't always that way.

God is teaching me daily to draw on him.

Thank you Lord for all you have given to me. Thank you for my family, for their health.
