Dan and I decided to try and sell our house this fall to see if we got any takers with the $8000 tax credit, but we decided to just do it For Sale By Owner. So August 17th we put the sign in our yard and one month later we got an offer. We will be temporarily moving in with Dan's parents until we find a house or build a house. We have been looking since our offer but just haven't found our new home.
We have been preparing the girls for the sell of the house for a couple months as we talked about putting it on the market. As a child I moved over 14 times so I know it is very hard for kids to pick up and move. As the time of packing has started Abby has been really excited about moving into her Nana and Papa's house but today she had a breakdown of tears as we loaded up things to take over. I know this transition is going to be hard on the girls but I also know they will love a new house once we have it.
I am sad and excited all at the same time. This will be the first house we buy as a couple, (Dan had this house built before we were married) as a family. Even though I have moved many times, packing up a family is so much harder there are so many memories in this house. Dan and I started Dating, got Married moved in, brought Makenzie home here, brought Abby home here, watched the girls grow from babies to toddlers to little girls in this house. So many memories........ I know new ones will be formed but it is hard even for mommy to say goodbye to our little old house..... Girls this is a new chapter in our lives that we will all be doing together as a family.
I pray my girls remember this little old house and all the fun times we have had.
